A Guyanese man, one of four, who was part of a failed bomb plot to blow up the John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York in 2006, was on Thursday sentenced to 15 years in jail.
U.S. District Judge Dora Irizarry sentenced Abdel Nur, 66, to the maximum in prison, despite a plea from his lawyer that Nur was suffering from cancer.
Judge Irizarry described Nur as ” a dangerous person” as she imposed the 15-year-sentence on him, seven months after he admitted providing support to terrorists.
