It is my ritual, it is my practice, it is my custom, and it is my habit that before I begin a speech, a training session, or even prior to the commencement of the rumble and tumble of my day I stop, for an unspecified amount of time, to give thanks to each of my enemies for the blessings that they have bestowed upon me over my lifetime!
It may seem like an oddity to you, but the net result of my achievements and ascension throughout my professional and business career was not because I was in the “right place at the right time.” I attained untold successes because of the result of my menaces’ devious trickery and demonic wizardry.
Once upon a time, tears would cascade down my face as I tried to rationalize why mayhem and misfortune would always seem to travel “lock-step” with my every move.
Once upon a time, I would overtly kowtow, wilt, shrink, or show evidence of timidity at the first sign of my adversaries’ melodrama or from my nemesis’ near misses and would often react as if I was suffering from a permanent degenerative state of cowardice.
Once upon a time, I felt lassoed like a neutered lapdog waiting for the master to release my muzzle.
Once upon a time, I was a neophyte at the “line of scrimmage” lethargically mangled and lock-jawed like a mannequin too mortified to mount a ninja defense.
Once upon a time, I felt like an ossified nincompoop incapable of being outspoken for fear of being ostracized and alone.
Then, I invited faith to walk with me!
After living hogtied for an inordinate amount of time, I knew that I was due for a maintenance overhaul and that a metamorphosis was the antidote. Hence, my naïveté was replaced with an unshakable negritude coupled with a mental and spiritual gridiron. From that day to this one, I welcomed Lucifer’s devilment because I knew that I was fortified with supersonic angels who I allowed to fight each of my battles!
As we embark towards a new year, promise yourself that 2013 will become the year that you will apply the “brakes” on wrestling, solo, with worrisome dilemmas that is designed to “whoosh” away your joy, your contentment, and the betterment for your life.
Remove barriers that may become a wedge between you and happiness. Transform relationships that sour your ecstasy. Kick into high gear a positive attitude and vow to seize every opportunity by giving a total commitment towards the enhancement of your goals. Revisit your “bucket list” and renew your sense of urgency to fulfill your dreams. Get back into the race by electrifying your enthusiasm with grit and gusto. And, most of all, stop fearing your enemy’s torturous gamesmanship because God will and can eclipse the devil each and every time.
Just ask my enemies!
Nice one Andrea
