A Florida woman won millions of dollars and claimed a top prize from a scratch-off game.
The Florida Lottery recently announced that Monica Rubio claimed a top prize from the $10,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game.
The South Florida woman chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $7,752,000.
The Miami-Dade County winner from Sunny Isles purchased her winning ticket from Publix, located at 14641 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach.
She claimed her winning top prize at the lottery’s Miami District Office.
$10,000 A Week For Life scratch-off game offered over $225 million in total cash prizes. For just $20, players have a chance to win one of four top prizes of $10,000 a week for life. There is one top prize remaining according to the Florida Lottery.
Overall odds of winning are 1 in 2.96.
Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024. Additionally, since inception, scratch-off games have awarded more than $70.8 billion in prizes, created 2,475 millionaires, and generated more than $20.98 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
