The Florida Division of Emergency Management has teamed up with with Radio Disney to host a kickoff for Severe Weather Awareness Week. The kick off will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at the main stage at Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from 2:00-4:00p.m. The DJ’s from Radio Disney will put on a high energy show full of fun, entertainment, games, dancing and prizes.
Additionally meteorologists will be on hand with the folks from Radio Disney to do some fun scientific experiments and games to educate children on the importance of severe weather safety and having a disaster plan and supply kit for their family.
Also, the Florida Division of Emergency Management announced its 2010 Severe Weather Awareness Guide.
The guide is intended to give Floridians and visitoros to the state an overview of the different severe weather threats Florida faces throughout each year.
