Eighty percent of those who voted in the November 2, elections said that the economy and jobs were upper most in their minds. The Democrats took a beating and the Republicans now control the majority in the House of Representatives. The GOP claims that the electorate has given them a mandate to cut spending, shrink government and to cut taxes. Will these measures create jobs? Hardly.
Andrew Sullivan from Calculated Risk posted a single chart showing why the economy was such a problem for Mr. Obama and the Dems in the mid-term elections, notwithstanding the fact that a Great Recession was avoided and some small improvements in the economy were realized.
