Governor Ron DeSantis received some major endorsements from four Florida job creation organizations.
“Thanks to our truckers, builders, contractors, and other supply chain workers, Florida is moving and thriving,” said Governor DeSantis. “While other states locked down their economies over the past two years, we kept Florida open and free. As a result, we are leading the country in job creation, and I am grateful for their support.”
At an event in Hillsborough County, the Republican Governor received endorsements from the National Federation of Independent Business Florida PAC, Florida Trucking Association PAC, Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida, and the Florida Home Builders Association. This is the first time ever that the Florida Trucking Association PAC has endorsed a candidate in its nearly 90-year history.
“Trucking is connected to every industry in Florida—medical, construction, transportation, hotel and restaurants, retail—all rely on the more than 114,000 trucking companies in the state to stay in business,” said Alix Miller, President and CEO of Florida Trucking Association and FTA PAC. “It’s a new day for Florida trucking. And with that comes a historic endorsement of Governor DeSantis, in recognition of the commitment he has shown to keep our supply chain healthy and our economy booming.”
The Republican incumbent is using the endorsement news to further show contrast with Democrat Charlie Crist ahead of Election Day. The endorsements put a spotlight on Florida’s economy and the different approaches to handling the COVID pandemic and supporting small business.
“As COVID ravished the economy across the country, Floridians were fortunate to have Governor DeSantis ensuring that essential work continued in our state,” said Rusty Payton, CEO of the Florida Home Builders Association. “Governor DeSantis understands that the construction industry is vital to a strong economy in Florida.”
