Deputies Identify Second Victim in Quality Inn Double Murder

Deputies have identified the second woman killed at a Quality Inn off International Drive Thursday morning, when a gunman opened fire killing first, his ex-girlfriend who also worked at the hotel. A third woman who survived, was also shot in the gunman’s shooting spree.

33-year-old Michelet Polynice began his shooting rampage when he entered the Quality Inn on 7400 Canada Avenue just before 8:00 a.m., killed his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend, Carlene Pierre before turning and shooting to death 28-year-old Gonzalez-Orellenes, a co-worker.   Both women were found dead behind the front desk with gunshot wounds to the head and chest, wdbo.com reports.

Pierre was feared for her life and overtime had taken out several restraining orders against Polynice with whom the mother of three, has a child, wdbo.com also reported.   Deputies confirmed Polynice had been served with an Osceola County injunction only one day before the shooting.

Polynice then drove a short distance to the Westgate Lake Resorts on 10000 Turkey Lake Road where he again opened fire and shot 31-year-old Jean Guerline, a friend of Carlene’s.  She survived the shooting.

Next, Polynice traveled to the Pine Hills area where deputies say, he shot himself in the head.  Although positive identification is awaited by the medical examiner, a burnt vehicle with a body believed to be Polynice was found, after it crashed into a tree.

The investigation is ongoing.
