A 38-year-old man who fell off a jet ski at Lake Barnett Park on West Colonial Drive on Saturday, has been identified, Orange County deputies said.
Chester M. Thomas’ body was pulled from the lake, after OCSO dive team searched for several hours, using sonar equipment.
Deputies responded around 3:30 p.m., after receiving reports that a man had fallen off a jet ski.
Investigators say, several persons jumped into the water to help but were unsuccessful. Those who attempted to save the victim, barely made it back to shore and had to be taken to local area hospitals, with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway to determine if Thomas’ jet ski malfunctioned.
