Authorities are searching for a man who stabbed his girlfriend 20 times, with a fatal wound to her heart, at the Monticello Motel in Polk County.
40-year-old Agueda Maldonado, was found dead inside a room in the motel last Saturday, February 26. Investigators believe that she was brutally murdered by her boyfriend, Jesus Flores, 33 years.
Flores, who is from the Haines City area, was arrested in early December for disorderly intoxication and released on January 27, 2011.
Detectives say, Maldonado checked into the motel on February 15, and believe she was viciously stabbed to death between February 21-22nd. Maldonado’s vehicle, a white 4-door 1993 Buick LeSabre with FL tag 467 1IP, was found on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at 160 Winsor Avenue in Haines City.
Detectives are in the process of obtaining a warrant for Flores’ arrest for first degree murder.
