Child Protective Investigator Busted with Cocaine

A woman who worked to protect children, was arrested on Saturday and charged with cocaine possession, Orange County deputies said.

Susan G. Cunningham, 39, was arrested on S. Orange Blossom Trail, after being pulled over by officers, just before 5:30 p.m.

Working on a tip, investigators followed Cunningham’s car and was able to pull her over on a traffic infraction.

Although initially denying that she had drugs in her vehicle, a narcotics K-9 called to the scene alerted on Cunningham’s vehicle.  A field test confirmed cocaine in the suspect’s vehicle.

Cunningham was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.

Cunningham is a child protective investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
