Celebrity Comedian Finesse Mitchell will be performing live, for one night only, on Friday, December 2, at Soiree Orlando located at 6394 Silver Star Road in Orlando. One of the biggest names in comedy, Finesse Mitchell is the first of several major events planned as part of the ReBirth Initiative aimed at revitalizing the Pine Hills community.
“For a community (Pine Hills) that has long been forgotten it is about time that they too get an opportunity to enjoy mainstream entertainment and events in their own backyard,” declared Finesse.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Finesse tried being a rapper but fell in love with comedy while performing at an open mic night. Six years later, he became a cast member on Saturday Night Live and appeared on B.E.T’s Comic View, The Tyra Banks Show, and Comedy Central. He has been a comedian for 13 years and describes his comedic style as “very original, conversational, and easy to relate to.”
This past week, Finesse appeared on Dr. Drew’s Life Changers show. You can watch him on The Disney channel’s ANT Farm or read his column in Essence magazine.
“Record yourselves on stage and learn from your mistakes,” Finesse advises aspiring comedians. “Work at it if you are serious and stay off the stage if you are not. And don’t steal and twist other people’s material. I hate hacks.”
He says he romances a woman by telling her “she is beautiful,” as much as I can and that “she is enough for my best love,” so she never has to wonder how I feel or what I am thinking. “Just concentrate on being the best woman you can be for yourself and for me,” he adds.
