A Central Florida shooting killed a 15-year-old and the Sheriff is seeking help to identify the suspect.
The teenage girl died from injuries received in the shooting incident in unincorporated Cocoa. 15-year-old Karyah Duncan, of Cocoa, was shot during the incident and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The incident began at approximately 4:30pm when deputies responded to the Anchors Seafood and Chicken restaurant on Clearlake Road after it was reported that multiple people had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located two male victims and one female victim with gunshot wounds. All three were transported to local hospitals. The two male victims are expected to survive and their names were not being released at the time.
Preliminary investigation has determined that the three victims were in a vehicle in the parking lot of the restaurant when a dark colored Sport Utility Vehicle pulled behind them, blocking their exit. Multiple assailants exited the SUV and began shooting toward the vehicle and the occupants who were attempting to exit the vehicle.
The assailants then re-entered the SUV, leaving the area prior to the arrival of deputies. Agents are still attempting to determine the motive for the attack; however, all indications are that the victims were targeted in this incident.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance with identifying one of the suspects related to the shooting in Cocoa.
