A Central Florida man was uploading child pornography from his home, and was busted after a local investigation.
Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Internet Predator Unit received a tip that 56-year-old William Lee Long, from Brandon near Tampa, was uploading child pornography from his home.
During the investigation, Long admitted to receiving Child Sexual Abuse Material. Detectives found more than 580 of these files on his devices.
Long, who was arrested in December 2023 for shining a laser at an HCSO helicopter that was in flight, was arrested on August 2, 2024, for the crimes above. More about his December arrest can be found in a previous article.
“This man should be ashamed of how he has conducted himself,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “His unhealthy and vile obsession is what fuels our detectives to remove criminals of his nature from our community.”
This investigation is ongoing, according to local law enforcement.
