Central Florida Man Murdered Two People, Fled from Deputies

A 35-year-old Central Florida man that murdered two people and then fled from deputies was arrested.

On July 13th, just after 2pm, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service regarding a deceased female on the 4800 block of Alvarado Drive in Tampa.

When deputies arrived, they found 31-year-old Lianet Santos Sosa with upper body trauma. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Through investigative means, detectives learned that 35-year-old Silvio Ramon Franco Peralta had fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

Franco Peralta then entered the City of Tampa at 8710 North Packwood Avenue, where he became involved in a deadly altercation with another individual, resulting in Franco Peralta killing the man.

Deputies issued an alert for the vehicle and initiated a pursuit upon locating the suspect. Within minutes, deputies performed a precision immobilization technique, stopping Franco Peralta’s vehicle. Franco Peralta attempted to flee the scene, but after a brief foot pursuit with deputies, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Franco Peralta is currently facing the following charges from HCSO:

  • Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon (Premeditated)
  • Armed Burglary of a Dwelling with an Assault or Battery
  • Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
  • Driving with License Cancelled, Suspended, or Revoked
  • Resisting an Officer Without Violence

“It is devastating to know that a 5-year-old child will grow up without their mother because of the senseless violence of this evil man. His complete disregard for human life has forever altered the lives of two families,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “I am proud of our deputies for their swift actions. They used their training to stop this dangerous man from causing any more harm to our community and have ensured that these families will get the justice they deserve.”

Further charges may be forthcoming from the Tampa Police Department. This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
