Central Florida Armed Home Invasion Suspect Tracked and Arrested

A Central Florida armed home invasion suspect was tracked with technology and then by a K-9 before being arrested.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office, Jerron Singletary recently broke through his ex’s bedroom window in Deltona. She had a friend and a sister at the house at the time, and they fought back. During the fight, Jerron pulled a gun and threatened them with it. He fired a shot into the ceiling, stole a cell phone, and then fled through the window.

Responding deputies spotted Singletary’s vehicle, which took off fleeing.

However, because Singletary had the stolen cell phone with him, deputies were able to track his vehicle as it headed out of Deltona, toward Lake Helen, and to a final location on Cassadaga Road.

K-9 Zord responded to that scene, found his abandoned SUV, and tracked through the woods to a property where Singletary was found hiding under an RV. He was taken into custody without incident by Volusia Sheriff’s Office and Lake Helen Police.

Deputies also found the gun, which was partially buried under the RV.

According to local law enforcement, Singletary was charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, grand theft, criminal mischief, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, and violation of probation.
