A man who confessed to strangling a woman to death two years ago after DNA on the victim matched his own, has been charged with her murder, Orange County deputies said.

Juan Sanchez, 40, confessed to killing Lacy Thistlewood, 21, who was found face down in a parking lot located at 8251 Presidents Drive, off Sand Lake Road. Construction workers found Thistlewood’s body on the evening of July 18, 2011.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement on July 10, 2013, reported that the DNA found under Thistlewood’s fingernails matched that of Sanchez.

When confronted in the Orange County Jail by homicide detectives, Sanchez confessed to strangling Thistlewood to death.

Thistlewood’s Facebook profile shows she was a student at Oakridge High School and law enforcement records show she had an extensive criminal criminal history that includes arrest on charges related to drugs and prostitution, the Orlando Sentinel reported, at the time of her murder.

Sanchez has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
