Within a period of one year, former Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll disclosed an increase in net worth of nearly $23 million, describing it only as household goods and personal effects, according to Integrity Florida.

Carroll resigned abruptly last week, after a meeting with FBI officials who participated in the arrests of 57 people, allegedly engaged in an illegal gambling operation through Internet Cafes, and led by Allied Veterans of the World, a non-profit organization.

Carroll, a Navy veteran, once owned a public relations firm, 3 N. & J.C. Corporation, that represented Allied Veterans of the World.

According to Integrity Florida, an ethics watchdog group, Carroll disclosed an increase in net worth of nearly $23 million between 2003 and 2004. In 2003, Carroll reported a net worth of $271,122 and by the following year, declared $23,000,000 on financial disclosures.  To compound the problem, Carroll provided no detailed information about assets on her 2004 financial disclosure form, only listing the $23 million as household goods and personal effects, according to Integrity Florida.

  1. Obviously the woman does not know what a decimal point is. On the other hand, where was the “oversight” when she was filing? It’s good to learn this stuff while the fox is still in the chicken house.

  2. So what, at least she disclosed that she had a net worth. Why is it anyone’s business what she has any way. At least she did not lie and say she had no net worth. I don’t care what she has what I care about is what I can keep in my own pocket. Too many people like to see others sink in misery. Take the plank out of your own eye first. None of us are perfect regardless of the position, title or job you may have.
