A Marion County woman is in jail, accused of battering her husband and then setting the couple’s home on fire, deputies said.
46-year-old Michelle D. Bedillion, of Dunnellon, was arrested on Sunday night and booked into the Marion County Jail.
Carlos Bedillion, also 46, called investigators to report that his wife, Michelle hit him in the head with a heavy picture frame and then threw a computer printer, striking him in the back.
Carlos, who hastily retreated from the house, told deputies he watched Michelle pour cooking oil on the stove and counters of the kitchen and light it on fire. He said he kicked in the door and put out the fire as his wife ran out the back door.
Michelle was found by a K9 in a wooded area behind the home, investigators said. When asked about hitting her husband, she replied: “He deserved whatever he got.”
Deputies also say, when questioned about the oil and burned kitchen, Michelle replied, “I was going out in a blaze of glory.”
