An arrest was made in an Orlando missing person case, with a murder charge for the roommate of the victim.
The Orlando Police Department made an arrest in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 42-year-old Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, a woman reported missing on December 27, 2022.
OPD detectives have charged Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, the roommate of the victim, with one count of Second-Degree Murder, one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence and one count of Grand Theft.
On December 27, 2022, at approximately 1:30pm, officers responded to the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road in response to a missing person. Victoria-Gonzalez, who contacted OPD, stated she had not seen her roommate, Medina-Pachecho, since December 25, 2022.
As the investigation continued, detectives discovered numerous inconsistencies in the version of events as described by Victoria-Gonzalez. A search warrant was executed at their residence, where significant evidence was recovered, indicating a violent incident
had occurred.
Following a comprehensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, detectives determined that Victoria-Gonzalez was residing in Hartford, CT. After traveling to Hartford, CT, and conducting an additional interview with her, investigators developed probable cause to charge Victoria-Gonzalez. OPD acknowledged the assistance of the Hartford Police Department for their support in this Orlando investigation.
