Armed Teen Carjackers Busted in Failed Attempt

Two teenage boys are now in custody after they carjacked a man who was on his way to work around 6:00 am, early this morning.  The suspects attempted to take over the victim’s truck after he exited his vehicle at Environs Boulevard and Stardust Lane, off County Road 435, to remove a bicycle that had been deliberately placed in the road way.  Orange County Sheriff’s detectives charged the teens with carjacking with a firearm.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office:

The victim was on his way to work when he had to exit his truck to remove a bicycle from the roadway.  As he was removing the bike from the intersection young males, one armed with a handgun, approached him.  The victim ran, one of the suspects chased him.  The gunmen abandoned his pursuit of the victim returned to the victim’s truck with his accomplice.  They abandoned the truck when they could not drive it because it had a manual transmission.

During the course of the investigation into this incident a K-9 track twice led deputies to a home on the 2700 block of Environs Boulevard.  Deputies set a perimeter around the house and requested, through a loudspeaker/car PA, that the occupants come out.  A juvenile exited the house and was secured.  Deputies entered the house to search for a second suspect.  He was located hiding under a bed.  A handgun believed to be used in the crime was located inside the home.

Both suspects were questioned, arrested, and charged with carjacking with a firearm.  One of the arrestees admitted to putting their bikes in the road to stop cars.

Suspect 1:  Adram Rodriguez, 16 years.
Suspect 2:  Anthony Sanchez Agosto, 17 years.

The victim was not injured.

Detectives are continuing with their investigation.   The name of the victim has not been released.
