Orange County deputies are searching for two suspects who robbed a man as he walked on north Semoran Boulevard on Thursday morning. Investigators say, an attempted robbery also occurred in close proximity to where the first victim was robbed and the two crimes might be related.
Deputies say, the man was walking in the area of 443 north Semoran Boulevard near Steak and Shake by the Berkshire Apartments, when he was approached by two suspects who demanded money and his belongings. One suspect brandished a hand gun.
The man complied and the suspects fled the scene. He was not hurt.
The second crime, an attempted robbery took place at 141 north Semoran Boulevard, at Full Sail campus, where another victim was walking.
Deputies say, at first, the man ignored the two suspects who approached him and demanded his property. Then one of the suspects grabbed his backpack. The victim wrestled it away and ran inside of Full Sail notifying their security.
K9 units tracked the possible suspects; and during the investigation, security at Full Sail and employees at a nearby Toyota dealership said they observed two subjects matching the descriptions “hiding” between vehicles.
The two subjects were detained, questioned, and subsequently released, investigators said.
Anyone with information on these crimes is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
