League Urges Citizens to Register to Vote before October 9th Deadline

The League of Women Voters of Orange County and of Florida is promoting voter registration in the last few days before the October 9th deadline and in particular at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office which will be open all day on Saturday, October 6th.

“With the new changes in the election laws this year, it is more important than ever that citizens not only register in advance of going to the polls, but also check to make sure their voter registrations are up to date,” said Deirdre Macnab, President of the League of Women Voters of Florida, in a statement. “The Supervisors of Elections Office is open all day Saturday, so folks who haven’t yet had a chance to register can do so. We hope to see a lot of people there!”

The League will hold a press conference on Saturday at the Orange County Supervisor of Election office, all with the aim of getting the word out that Floridians, who have not registered to vote in the November election, should do so.

In its more than 70-year history, the League of Women Voters of Florida, a nonpartisan political organization, has long encouraged informed and active participation in government.
