Gas Prices Continue Upward March

Gasoline prices go increase higher with soon-to-be Hurricane Isaac heading northwestward up the Gulf of Mexico and some refineries already shutting down oil production.

In Orlando, over the past week, average retail gas prices rose 7.4 cents per gallon, averaging $3.65/g on Sunday, according to GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Orlando during the past week, prices yesterday were 14.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 31.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

“Well, for those that have noticed, the national average has perked up slightly in the last week as oil prices have advanced,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

Nationwide, average gas prices have increased 3.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.73/g, according to GasBuddy.com.
