Orange County Commissioner Jennifer Thompson will host the Second Annual District 4 Back to School Day this Saturday August 11, 2012 at the Meadow Woods Magic Recreation Center located on 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle, Orlando, FL, from 11:00am-2:00pm. The goal of this event is to provide students and their families with the tools and resources necessary to have a bright start to the new school year.
“Children are our future and I believe it is our responsibility to ensure that they have the tools necessary to be successful,” says Thompson. “Back to school can be a hardship for many families and I want to assist to the best of my ability.”
Last year Commissioner Thompson distributed 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students and plans to match that number this year.
