On Wednesday a jury recommended that William Davis be put to death, granting the convicted killer his wish.
Davis, 34, was found guilty the day before by the same jury for the rape and murder of 19-year-old Fabiana Malave.
Davis addressed the jury on Tuesday telling them that he wished to be put to death.
“I do not want to spend the next 40 or 50 years of my life in prison,” said Davis.
Judge John Galluzzo will decide whether or not Davis will be put to death on September 10. The jury’s recommendation will play a major role in his decision.
In 2009, Davis kidnapped Malave from a Longwood auto shop where she worked, drove her to his home in West Orange County, then rape and murdered her.
