Motorcycle Rider Struck, Killed on Alafaya Trail

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Sunday night on Alafaya Trail, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m., near College Park Trail.

Troopers said, 20-year-old Jennifer Li, of Port St. Lucie, who was traveling eastbound on College Park Trail attempted to make a left turn to head north on Alafaya Trail and turned into the direct path of the motorcyclist.

The unnamed motorcyclist was traveling south on Alafaya Trail when he struck the Toyota Li was driving.

The motorcycle rider, who was wearing a helmet, was propelled onto the car’s hood, troopers said.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers have not released the name of the motorcycle rider, who is from West Palm Beach, pending notification of next of kin.

Li suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
