Gun shots rang out early this morning on a street in Sanford injuring three persons, including a pregnant woman.
Sanford police said, around 2:30 a.m., on Wednesday, a silver/grey or gold color Toyota or Honda drove by a crowd of people in the 1400 block of W. 14th Street and Mangoustine Avenue and opened fire.
A pregnant woman who was hit, along with two men were taken to a local area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe that the unknown suspects were probably armed with automatic weapons.
Investigators also said, this shooting incident could be connected to an another that occurred on Monday, when a 17-year-old teen was shot at the intersection of 13th Place and Mangoustine Avenue. The teen, suffered serious injuries as a result and had to be taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
A white or silver vehicle was seen fleeing the area following the shooting on Monday. Police also found another vehicle that was sprayed with bullets, but none of the occupants was injured.
Police are asking the community for help in solvings these shooting cases.
Law enforcement officers are being warned that if they make contact with the vehicle, EXTREME CAUTION should be used.
