Deputies are searching for a suspect who shot through the window of a building striking an employee in the upper body early on Wednesday morning.
Orange County investigators said, a Toyota 4-Runner pulled up in the parking lot of Dismas Charities located at 6860 Edgewater Commerce Parkway shortly after 6:00 a.m.
The suspected shooter got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and fired one round into the building. The bullet penetrated a window and struck an employee in his upper body, deputies said.
The vehicle sped away and was later found abandoned on Pope Road, where it was set on fire.
Deputies said, the vehicle had been reported stole from the City of Orlando.
Investigators do not believe that the employee who was hit was the intended victim of the shooter.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. His name has not been released.
Dismas Charities is a national, not-for-profit provider of residential re-entry services for offenders in the United States.
Deputies said, the investigation is active and ongoing.
