Deputies: Celebration Travel Agent Arrested

Julie Nimtz
Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a travel agent in Celebration and owner of Johannes Travel, Inc., last Friday.

Julie Diane Nimtz, 53, is accused of failing to register as a seller of travel with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs or the Airline Reporting Corporation, a first degree misdemeanor.

In June, investigators of the Economic Crimes Unit met with numerous victims who indicated they booked a cruise with Johannes Travel, Inc., but the company failed to pay the cruise line.  The victims were not reimbursed and they were not booked for the cruise, scheduled for the Bahamas in September, detectives said.

Nimtz, who is currently on probation for a fraud charge in Illinois, is the owner of Johannes Travel, Inc., located at 412 Campus Street in Celebration and Magical Tours and Travel, Inc.

On Friday, Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives obtained a warrant and arrested Nimtz, a registered felon. She was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Investigators said that the investigation is an ongoing one and additional charges are pending.
