Police Hunting for Suspect who Attacked Church Manager

Altamonte Springs police are hunting for a man who attacked and robbed an assistant church manager early on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:00 am, at the St. Mary Magdalen Church in Altamonte Springs.

Police said, as the assistant church manager unlocked the door, she heard a sound but saw no one. Shortly after the woman told police she went to the restroom and when she got out, she was confronted by the suspect.

The suspect punched the woman and then began chocking her, police said.

The victim also told police the suspect threatened to stab her.   She was only able to rid herself of the suspect after she spraying him with pepper spray which she grabbed from her purse.

During the attack, the suspect stole the victim’s wedding rings.

Police said, the suspect is described as a white male, about 16-17 years old with dark, curly hair.  He was wearing a dark shirt and black pants.
