Troopers have released the name of an Orlando woman who died, following a crash on Turkey Lake Road, near Walmart, early on Thursday morning.
26-year-old Marie Pierre Canel, of Orlando, died on Friday from injuries sustained, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Troopers said, Canel was heading east in a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, on the public driveway of 8990 Turkey Lake Road in the left turn lane, just before 7:00 am. Canel then attempted to turn left onto northbound Turkey Lake Road, in the direct path of a 2002 Chevy Surburban.
37-year-old Kristen West, of Ocoee, driving the Chevy Surburban, was traveling south on Turkey Lake Road, near Sand Lake Road, in the right through lane.
West struck the left side of Canel’s Pontiac Sunfire.
Canel was transported to ORMC, where she died yesterday.
West sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
