An Orlando motorcyclist, speeding on Monday night on Curry Ford Road, was killed near Andover Cay Boulevard in Orange County, after he crashed into the rear of another vehicle, troopers said.
33-year-old Giovanni Ocasio, of Orlando, was heading eastbound on a 2004 Yamaha Mitsubishi, in the left through lane on Curry Ford Road, approaching the intersection of Andover Cay Boulevard. Ocasio was going at a high rate of speed, troopers said.
FHP said, a Hyundai SUV, driven by 53-year-old Cynthia A. Walker, which was stopped in the left turn lane on Andover Cay Boulevard, attempted to travel across the eastbound lanes, when the front of Ocasio’s motorcycle struck the left rear of SUV. The SUV rotated counterclockwise across the intersection and came to rest in the westbound lanes on Curry Ford Road.
Ocasio continued traveling eastbound and came to a final stop east of the intersection. Ocasio was pronounced dead on the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
