Lucas Boyce Named Among Outstanding Young Americans

The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) announce that Lucas D. Boyce has been named as one of the 2011 Ten Outstanding Young Americans. The presentation of the 73rd annual black-tie awards ceremony will be held June 11, 2011, at the Wyndham Lisle-Chicago Hotel in Lisle, IL.

Author of Living Proof: From Foster Care to the White House and the NBA, Lucas Boyce worked on the Presidential campaign for George W. Bush and worked as the Executive Assistant to the Counselor to the Vice President after the election. Additionally, he served the White House as Deputy Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison and Associate Director of the Office of Political Affairs in the White House.

Currently, Lucas is the Director of Community Relations Multicultural Insights and Government Affairs for the Orlando Magic. He was recently appointed to the Orange County Library Board of Trustees.

Through his community service efforts, Lucas mentors youth through the Take Stock in Children Mentoring program, as well as personally mentors a fatherless 11-year old boy and several young professionals. In addition, Lucas has given over $10,000 in in-kind speaking engagements since January 2011.
