Save-A-Lot, one of the nation’s leading hard discount, limited assortment grocery chains celebrated its continued commitment to supporting hunger relief programs in Orlando with the donation of 10,000 fresh Pink Lady apples to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, as part of the ongoing success of the “Take A Bite Out of Hunger” promotion.
During the months of November through January, Save-A-Lot participated in an apple promotion that allowed the retailers and their consumers to earn a special shipment of fresh apples for local food banks based on retail sales of fresh apples. The promotion was part of a national campaign sponsored by Washington apple shipper FirstFruits Marketing.

Throughout the duration of the promotion, FirstFruits Marketing of Washington has partnered with retailers throughout the United States with a goal to donate 1 million apples to food banks around America.
