Two young children were turned over to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) on Thursday night, and their father is wanted for interfering with custody, Orlando Police said.
Investigators said, 23-year-old Joel Torrellas is wanted by police for intentionally avoiding both law enforcement and DCF. The mother of the children, 24-year-old Denise Caraballo is a person of interest.
Police believe that both parents were currently aware a court order was in place for their children to be taken into custody by DCF.
But on Thursday night around 7:30 pm, the grandmother of the children turned over Javious Torrellas, 2 1/2 years and Javious Torrellas, 2 months.
Joel Torrellas is still at large and wanted for interference with custody, police said.
