An Orlando man who robbed a hotel clerk at gunpoint and is suspected of being involved in several other robberies in Orange County, is now in jail.
Orlando police say, Michael Scott, 20 years, is one of two suspects who held up a front desk clerk at the County Inn and Suites on Universal Boulevard on January 26. One suspect held the clerk at gunpoint, while the other jumped the counter and stole cash from the drawer and safe.
Surveillance video helped police track down the getaway car and Scott was arrested yesterday, February 8.
Police say, the second suspect in the armed hotel robbery has been identified.
OPD Robbery Unit collaborated with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit and were able to link Scott and the other suspect to several robberies in Orange County.
A large amount of evidence from Scott’s residence that link him to the January 26 armed robbery, and other robberies has been recovered, police say.
Scott was booked into the Orange County Jail on Tuesday on a $10,000 bond. He has been charged with robbery with a firearm and kidnapping with intent to commit a felony with a weapon.
Police and deputies say the investigations are ongoing and additional arrests are imminent.
