Mayor Dyer will participate in the Tom Joyner TJ2K Walk/Run. This two kilometer walk/run around Lake Eola supports the Tom Joyner Foundation and the Nap Ford Community School. The Tom Joyner Foundation helps students to continue their education at African American colleges and universities.

Mayor Dyer will attend the swearing in ceremony for District 1 Commissioner Phil Diamond, District 3 Commissioner Robert Stuart and District 5 Commissioner Daisy Lynum to serve another four year term on the Orlando City Council.

Mayor Dyer will attend the 14th Annual Senior Expo and Health Fair. This event is an opportunity for seniors in the Orlando community to learn more about health, recreation and fitness.

Mayor Dyer will celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Orlando City Hall at an event sponsored by the Consulate of Mexico. The event will highlight the Mexican culture, feature Mexican dancers and singers and a sampling of Mexican food.

Mayor Dyer and Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty serve as chairmen of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness. The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness works to address the social and economic impact of homelessness on communities within Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties and the City of Orlando.

Mayor Dyer will attend the 14th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon presented by the City of Orlando and the L. Claudia Allen Senior Center to honor mothers throughout the City.

Mayor Dyer will attend the 28th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. This ceremony honors all the courageous and dedicated law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Mayor Dyer will walk the runway for the Fashion Funds the Cure event featuring young girls who are battling cancer. All proceeds from Fashion Funds the Cure will go to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, an organization that researches treatments and provides hope for children battling cancer.
