Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is inviting Orlando residents to attend the 5th Annual Neighborhood & Community Summit: Building on a Decade of Success and Moving our Community Forward on Saturday, April 10 from 7:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
Structured around Mayor Dyer’s recent State of the City Address, The Summit will bring together neighborhood, arts & cultural, civic, community-based and faith-based leaders to gain insight on innovative and exciting City initiatives, discuss community and building opportunities and create partnerships that will support residents and contribute to a vibrant city.
A variety of neighborhood engagement workshops, best practices and networking opportunities are available for attendees. Different workshops will be offered including:
- Using Social Networking to Promote your Organization
- Legal Issues Impacting Mandatory Homeowner Associations
- Event Planning: A Guide to Success
- Grant Writing 101
- Mayor’s Matching Grants
- How Organizations can Weather Tough Times
“Attending the Mayor’s Neighborhood & Community Summit allows residents the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of City programs and identify the tools and resources available to help neighborhoods and community organizations thrive,” said Mayor Dyer. “I believe the City has a responsibility to provide leaders and volunteers with the tools and information needed to make our City better for everyone who lives here, works here or chooses to raise a family in Orlando.”
