Orlando Police Department detectives said that two women were victimized within a half-mile radius of each other, in the College Park area, on Thursday, January 14th, and the two cases might be connected.
The first incident occurred around 10:00 pm, at the Walgreens, 3301 Edgewater Drive in College Park, where OPD responded to a carjacking. Detectives were able to make contact with the 26-year-old woman and also with the suspect.
However, OPD investigators have said that no charges are pending at this time due to lack of physical evidence, independent witnesses and the suspect’s alibi.
The second incident took place some three hours later around 1:00 am, on January 15th, where a man with a silver hand gun, robbed a 21-year-old in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy at 3502 EdgeWater Drive. The woman handed over her purse to the gunman, after he pulled the gun. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
OPD is continuing with its investigation, trying to determine whether or not the two cases are connected.
