Madoff’s Alleged Victims Stretches To BVI

The main shareholder of a hedge fund based in the British Virgin Islands is claiming he is also among the victims of Bernie Madoff`s US$50 billion ponzi scheme.

Jacques Rauber, of Auriga International Advisers, reportedly lost more than $350 million in the scheme, according to reports in Swiss weekly SonntagsZeitung. Auriga`s funds were apparently wholly invested in Fairfield Sentry, which had invested all its $7.3 billion in assets with Madoff.

Rauder was quoted by the SonntagsZeitun as saying, “I deeply regret that the investors of Auriga International, to which I too belong, fell victim to this incredible case of fraud.”

Madoff remains under house arrest in his multi-million dollar Manhattan apartment.
