Reed Nissan Crushes Pet Rescue Goal

A record-setting 2,151 cats and dogs were placed in FURever homes during this year’s “Reed Nissan Pet Rescue Project 90-Day Adopt-a-Thon,” an outcome that far exceeded the event’s goal of creating 2,000 animal adoptions.  The Adopt-a-Thon began October 1, 2015 and ended December 31, as part of Reed Nissan’s Pet Rescue Project.

This was the second consecutive year that Reed Nissan, Reed Nissan Clermont and the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (PAGO) partnered to host the 90-Day Adopt-a-Thon.  This year’s success surpassed 2014’s results by more than 300 adoptions.

“Every pet deserves a loving family and a safe home.  All of us at Reed Nissan and Reed Nissan Clermont are thrilled to help provide that to more than two thousand cats, dogs and other animals in need,” said Aaron Hill, General Manager of Reed Nissan and Reed Nissan Clermont. “It’s always an honor for us to work with the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and help find homes for our furry friends.”

Reed Nissan is a longtime supporter of the Pet Alliance and the organization’s two shelters. Currently, the dealership donates a portion of sales from each car sold to PAGO, a pledge that raised over $47,000 in 2015. Reed Nissan’s donations go towards specific projects dedicated to the overall wellbeing of the animals at both adoption locations.

In November, Reed Nissan owner, Raymy Reed, received the 2015 Animal Hero Award at the 24th Annual Furball for his continued support of the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. “As a proud owner of three rescue dogs, I understand the importance of finding every pet a safe, loving home,” said Reed. “It is our goal at the Reed Nissan dealerships to help the Pet Alliance find families for each and every animal in need.”

Although the 90-Day Adopt-a-Thon has ended, there are still many pets waiting to be taken to their new FURever homes.
