FDLE: ‘Operation Safe Summer’ Nets 19 Sex Offenders

OperationSafeSummerFinalNineteen sexual offenders have been arrested for various violations of probation charges and one offender for possession of child pornography, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced Thursday.

Dubbed ‘Operation Safe Summer’ law enforcement conducted digital device compliance checks on sex offenders and predators on probation within Orange County.

Operation Safe Summer was a three phase operation.  During the first phase, FDLE Agents and Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies examined cell phones and tablets owned by offenders as they met with probation officers during regularly scheduled monthly meetings. In the next phase, agents and deputies accompanied probation officers during unscheduled in-home probation visits.

The final phase of Operation Safe Summer included a public safety and educational component.

FDLE Agents partnered with the Department of Corrections and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on ‘Operation Safe Summer.’
