Armed Suspects Posing as Delivery Workers Arrested in Orange County Home Invasion

homeinvasionfinalTwo armed suspects – one male and one female – are now in custody after they forced their way into a home in west Orange County.

According to reports, the pair pretended to be making a delivery to a home in the 300 block of Minneola Drive, off Old Winter Garden Road and Edgewood Ranch Road, just before 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Once inside the home, the suspects, who have not been identified, bound up a woman with her infant child present. Deputies say, neither the female victim nor the child was hurt.

An internal surveillance system captured what was happening inside the home. The suspects’ vehicle was also caught on camera.

Deputies spotted the suspects’ vehicle which later crashed into a fence close to a park.

Meanwhile, in the confusion, a resident nearby, known to the victim, charged down the road with a firearm, causing deputies to close down the area to school buses and other traffic.

A suspicious package carried by the suspect is currently being examined by the OCSO Explosive Ordinance Team.

This is a developing story. Check back later for more.
