A mother and daughter are dead and four suspects are in custody, after a night of violence in Auburndale and Haines City.

Polk County deputies say, the crime spree began just before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, when a call was received regarding a robbery of a Cash America Pawn on Havendale Blvd in Auburndale.

Four men were identified as suspects and the suspects’ vehicle – a GMC SUV – was spotted heading eastbound along U.S. 17/U.S. 92 in Haines City.  A police pursuit led to shots being fired at a patrol car.

Investigators say, 22-year-old Devonere “Devon” McCune, of Haines City, bailed from the suspect vehicle and was apprehended by a sheriff’s canine team; the other three suspects fled on foot.

Not long after, a resident on Astor Road in Haines City called to report suspicious activity at a house nearby. A perimeter is set up and shortly after a car suddenly bursts through a closed garage door at law enforcement officers who open fire.

Another suspect, Michael Gordon, 35, is shot and apprehended by a canine team. Gordon suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies located two homicide victims in the house, identified as mother and daughter residents 72-year-old Patricia Moran and 51-year-old Deborah Royal.  Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the pair were brutally murdered.

The two other suspects, Jovan Lamb, 29, of Haines City and Terrell Williams, 29, were apprehended in Haines City on Friday.

All four suspects – Lamb, Williams, McCune and Gordon – have long rap sheets dating back several years.
