Same-Sex Marriage Begins in Orlando, Dyer To Officiate Wedding Ceremony

samesexmarriageMore than 40 couples will participate in the Vowed and Proud Wedding Ceremony, an event that celebrates the historic first day that marriage will be recognized for same sex couples in Florida.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer who is also a notary public, will officiate a same-sex wedding ceremony at Orlando City Hall.  The event will include a reading by District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, a blessing delivered by Reverend Kathy Schmitz from The First Unitarian Church of Orlando and performances by the Orlando Gay Chorus.
