A Sanford Middle School teacher was arrested on Monday, charged with child pornography, according to law enforcement officers.
James Stevens, 66, was taken into custody at his home in DeBary by Volusia County deputies and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE had been investigating Stevens for several days and found he had been looking at child pornography.
Stevens was charged with eight counts of child porn and booked into the Volusia County Jail.
Stevens is a gifted math teacher and has been at Sanford Middle School since 2003. He was immediately suspended, pending further investigation.
