For the first time in 12 years, the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association (OCCTA), representing all 12,000 instructional personnel, will address the School Board in a public hearing on Thursday, September 10 at 6:30p.m.
The purpose of the hearing will be to discuss issues unsettled from the 2008-2009 contract negotiations. The issues include, salary, preparation time for teachers, directives and step increases.
In the hearing, the School Board sits as the legislative body and decides these contract issues directly as proposed by the Union.
The hearing will take place at the Educational Leadership Center at 445 W. Amelia St. Orlando 31801.
