Orange County Deputies have arrested Tedric Taylor, a ninth grade Oak Ridge High School student, for Possession of a Firearm on School Property on the school campus this morning.
Taylor had allegedly chased a Carver Middle School student with the gun in hand in his Richmond Heights neighborhood earlier this morning. The middle school student reported the incident to school administrators when he arrived at his school. Those administrators quickly determined that suspect Taylor attended Oak Ridge and immediately notified their counterparts at the high school who, in turn, notified Sheriff’s Deputies.
Taylor was located in a classroom and secured. The gun, a High Point compact blue steel semi-automatic pistol with a loaded magazine, was located in his book bag during an administrative search. The suspect claimed he had found the gun.
