A vehicle and its occupants were shot at multiple times on Dijon Drive on Thursday morning, Orlando police say.
The shooting happened outside the gates of the Cypress Pointe Apartments just before 3:30 a.m.
A man and his girlfriend, driving in a 2010 Dodge Challenger, observed they were being followed by a Lincoln MKZ, as they pulled up to enter the gates of the apartment complex.
As the couple drove away from the gates, the Lincoln pulled along side their vehicle and a male passenger in the back seat jumped out and began shooting. The investigation also revealed that the man fired off several rounds from a rifle he held on his hip.
The couple sped away and suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident. Police found six bullet holes on the driver side of the Dodge Challenger.
The unknown shooter is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall; he was wearing a black shirt, black hat, jean shorts, black shoes and socks.
There were several other black males in the Lincoln, police learned.
The investigation is ongoing.
