Calling all young artists! PLAYGROUND Magazine presents the first ever Young at Art Children’s Art Festival in partnership with the Cornell Fine Arts Museum on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Artegon Marketplace, 5250 International Dr., Orlando, FL 32819.
Private, public, and homeschool kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to display
their paintings, collages, photography, drawing, or 3-D artwork during the event. Art teachers or
administrators are permitted to submit 20 total pieces of artwork per school/program. Each artist
is allowed one submission per category.
The competition is divided into two levels: Level A (grades K–2) and Level B (grades 3–5). A
$50 cash prize will be awarded at each level for each category. The winners will be announced at
the event, and awards will be distributed at 3 p.m. All of the winners’ artwork will be displayed
at Artegon Marketplace for six months and will be featured in PLAYGROUND Magazine.
This inventive event will also feature a Paper Fashion Show, where aspiring fashion designers
will design “clothes” to showcase using only paper materials. In addition to artsy entertainment
such as live music, stilt walkers and a larger-than-life puppet show, children are invited to
participate in free art workshops:
